Model developed to predict development of complications in adult spinal deformity surgery

Researchers performed a retrospective analysis of information in an adult spinal deformity (ASD) database and identified 557 patients. Of these patients, 148 were categorized as having at least one major intraoperative or perioperative complication and 409 patients had no complications. Investigators developed decision trees with five different bootstrapped models and calculated overall accuracy, area under the receiver operating characteristic curve and importance of predictors.
